All you need for gaming on your Xbox 360

This post will help you to find things you need for your console in the city.

1. Xbox 360 Console
I would recommend you to buy the original console from respectable vendor like Planet M even if you plan to get it modified. Buying a pre-modified console is not a good option as they will open the packing and you will never know what you got inside the black box. The console that looks new from outside may have been already mugged from inside. You can also opt for purchasing from online retailer like Flipkart who even provide COD (Cash on Delivery) option and product is delivered at your doorstep within 2-4 days. If you still don't trust online retailers like Flipkart, go live under stones.
So here are your options for purchasing a new console
a. Planet M, Fun Republic, Manimajra (or other outlets across the city)

2. Games (Original)
Same as above, you may note that you can pre-order the game on flipkart. Pre-ordering usually gives you special incentives in the game like some exclusive missions or multiplayer maps. Another reason in favor of Flipkart is that Planet M and Music World are very slow to update their games stock.

3. Games (Backup)
If you don't want to scratch your original copy of the disc, you can buy backup discs, they only cost Rs 100/disc. So a 2 disc game will cost you Rs 200. I would only recommend you first option here as all other shops are unreliable in this case.

4. Xbox 360 Modification
To play backup games, you must patch your console with required firmware. There are 2 firmware's available these days LT+ 2.0 and LT+ 3.0. For 13000 series dashboards 2.0 is enough but once you update to 14000 series dashboard, 3.0 may be your only option. As newer games will have mandatory 14000 series dash, I recommend you to ask for 3.0 mod only. Dash 14719 is already spotted in Sniper Elite v2, Battleship and Max Payne 3. Once again I would only suggest you UGZ only, the guy will ask you to choose between 2.0 and 3.0, you go to any other shop, they wont talk and may mod your console with 2.0 so that they can charge you again when 3.0 becomes mandatory. Note that UGZ also advises everyone to mod with 2.0, don't hear to that. LT + 3.0 is latest and best option for every box.

5. Burning Backup games at home
Here is what you need for doing this
(a) DVD Writer
First preference
Lite-on ihas Revision B [Rev B only !!]
Other options - As Rev B is not manufactured anymore, ihas may become harder/expensive to find, so here are the new options

DVD 1260i B (confirmed) there may also be older A model (unconfirmed)

-PLEXTOR
PL-L890SA (confirmed)

Any other DVD writer will not be able to burn games released after August 2011 [except WWE 2012, Silent Hill Downpour, Sniper v2]

(b) Burning Media - Blank DVD Dual Layer 8.5 GB
We have 2 options
Verbatims [Made in Singapore only]  Rs 44/disc
Cheap discs like Double National Rs 18/disc

Both the DVD writer and blank DL discs can be purchased form www.theitbazaar.com. The guy only deals through his online website and products ordered are delivered through courier. No need to be afraid, I have personally tested and purchased from him a few times. Note ihas 124 being sold here is Revision C which is no use to you, so look for other options only.
